What Is This

Soccer + Culture + Community

The Neighborhood World Cup Games is Houston's grassroots celebration of global football culture. Neighborhoods, churches, schools, and community orgs each adopt a nation — then compete on the pitch while sharing food, music, and pride off it.

This is not an official FIFA event. It's something better: it's ours.

🌍

Adopt a Nation

Each team is assigned a country by lottery draft night. Rep your flag, learn the anthem, and bring the culture to life.

Compete in the Bracket

Group stage play, then single-elimination knockouts. 16 teams, 3 days, one champion. Skills challenges for non-players too.

🎶

Live Performances Daily

Local artists, world music, and surprise guests take the stage between matches. Food booths, cultural vendors, and family fun all weekend.

Live Music & Entertainment

The Stage Is Ours

Three days of live performances celebrating Houston's multicultural heartbeat — between every match, on every evening.

🥁Opening Night

Global Drum Circle & Opening Ceremony

Day 1 · 6:00 PM · Main Stage

All 16 nations march in with their flags as a massive community drum circle kicks off the games. Flag bearers, traditional dress, and the roar of the crowd.

🎸Live Band

Afrobeats & Latin Fusion Night

Day 1 · 8:30 PM · Main Stage

Houston-based artists bring together Afrobeats, cumbia, and reggaeton in a live set that's equal parts concert and dance party.

🎺Cultural Set

Mariachi & Steel Pan Showcase

Day 2 · 12:00 PM · Community Stage

A rotating showcase of traditional ensembles — mariachi, steel pan, samba percussion, and more — performing between group stage matches.

🎤Houston Spotlight

H-Town Hip-Hop & R&B

Day 2 · 7:00 PM · Main Stage

Houston's own take center stage. Local MCs and vocalists bring the city's iconic sound — chopped, screwed, and proud — to the Neighborhood World Cup Games.

💃Dance Performance

World Dance Showcase

Day 3 · 11:00 AM · Community Stage

From West African dance to flamenco to Bollywood — local dance troupes from across Houston perform the styles of every competing nation.

🏆🎶Finals Night

Championship Concert & Closing
